DIGITAL ART DIRECTOR

We’re looking for a seasoned rock star – a senior art director/designer who thinks conceptually and executes brilliantly. A great portfolio and a relentlessly positive attitude are a must. The right candidate will be comfortable understanding and concepting client brands and working with the Executive Creative Director and Digital Director on strategic solutions, digital advertising, social media marketing, content development, websites, emails and promotions, mobile advertising. You will be actively working with Art Directors and Designers and Copywriters on a variety of projects—aligning digital to be integrated with all communications. You will be responsible for presenting your ideas and work to the internal team, as well as the client, and will be held accountable for your team/work. You must be able to work well in a group atmosphere, as well as individually, and have the ability to juggle multiple projects in a timely manner.

Skills and Duties:

  • Concept and execute art direction/design and create new ones with minimal creative direction
  • Create executions applying design principles such as color, typography, photographic selection, organizing elements and usability
  • Ability to be both hands-on and provide clear direction to others
  • Work collaboratively with the Creative Director, copywriters, account services, project management, other art directors/designers and production team
  • Understanding our clients’ strategic objectives and helping the agency connect to their audiences with relevant, engaging creative and digital experiences
  • Collaborate with account teams to develop great creative interactive work that supports the strategic vision and tenacious execution that we deliver to our clients
  • Develop the creative campaign concepts as well as designing and editing creative work across all channels such as digital advertising, social media marketing, content development, websites, emails and promotions, mobile advertising, and more
  • Embracing a deep passion and curiosity for all things digital and social to build staff understanding and expertise in these areas. Promoting and sharing digital inspiration with agency teams that enlightens your co-workers on creative solutions, new technology, or digital trends
  • Become the creative evangelist for digital-creative to ensure agency includes all key service offerings within appropriate client programs
  • Help to organize the creative department workflow in a proactive manner to ensure agency meets deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Maximize results within established budgets and timeframes

The Ideal Candidate is:

  • 5 years of experience in digital and graphic design at a PR, digital or advertising agency. Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of digital/online best practices in advertising
  • Ability to develop creative work with evolving requirements in a fast-paced environment
  • Deep understanding of responsive web design and UX
  • Basic comprehension of HTML and CSS
  • Detailed skills in social media marketing and traditional promotional marketing
  • Proven proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Ability to be communicate strategic/conceptual choices to internal members of the team
  • Strong communication skills and demonstrated experience in communicating and discussing concepts with senior-level clients is critical
  • Direct/collaborate with photographers, illustrators, directors, etc. to ensure the end results are top-notch
  • Ability to work well in a cross-functional team environment — able to work independently and within a team
  • Strong strategic skills

  • A self-starter, constantly learning
  • Possess a strong portfolio
  • Good with time management
  • Honest – no ego is a huge plus
